The Sky DRX 595 HD Box
The Sky DRX 595 HD Digibox is Sky's latest addition to their available viewing decoders. Sky had basically done away with their basic boxes, presumably thinking that everyone would want the Sky+ HD boxes but this is not the case as many people are not interested in the recording aspect and just wanted a standard sky box The box does not have an internal hard drive to enable recording but does have the capability of viewing standard or High Definition channels.
The picture and sound quality of the DRX 595 is excellent. It has the normal Scart lead connection between the box and TV but also features an HDMI port for watching both SD and HD content (you will require a HD Ready television with spare HDMI port). You also have a connection giving you access to 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound via HDMI. As with all of our boxes they are brand new and come direct from Sky and as such come with a full 12 months back to base guarantee. This standard sky box was originally built by Amstrad but as you will be aware BSkyB have acquired Amstrad and so all the the Sky DRX595 HD boxes are now made in house by Sky themselves.
